About United Television
Gospel Superfest is produced and managed by Ohio based firm United Television, LLC. Founded in 1995 the firm was originally organized to manage radio properties. Due to
fate and the expertise and passion of its principals, United Television diversified its resources and energies and began consulting TV and radio station owners through the mid-western United States.
In nineteen ninety-eight the firms President /CEO produced Gospel Winterfest '98 which was a huge success in the southern-Ohio area and this event served as catalyst and inspiration for the big show, Gospel Superfest 2000. Gospel Superfest 2000 fed on the many activities and
energy surrounding the turn of the century by promoting one of the gutsiest events ever to take place in the gospel music industry. The, event, held in Louisville, KY at it prestigious Kentucky Center For the Arts, featured over thirty (30) national recording artists and was held over a three day period. Performers included Mary Mary, Trin-i-tee 5:7, The Canton Spirituals, Dottie Peoples, Shirley Murdock, Dorothy Norwood, The Pilgrim Jubilees, The Mighty Clouds of Joy, The McClurkin Project, Candi Staton, Host Clifton Davis (Amen), Lexi, Lamar Campbell & Spirit of Praise
just to name a few. Noted TV director Chuck Vinson (NAACP Image, Stellar Gospel) served as co-producer as this history-making event launched the Gospel Superfest Brand and a new era in Gospel Music Television. "It was crazy! It was risky! And most people simply did not believe it was possible in a minor market like Louisville. But that's how most divinely inspired projects are perceived, unless you are the one in whom HE has entrusted with the vision.
States, Executive Producer and Founder, Dr. Bobby Cartwright, Jr.
The end result was three anointed days of performances and over 5,000 persons inclusive of performers in attendance. And as they say, the rest is history!
The local Louisville press played a very significant role in the success of Gospel Superfest 2000 by promoting it like it was the Gospel-Kentucky Derby.
Dorothy Norwood was a guest anchor on the Local Fox Morning News and gospel Artist Eartha Moore performed live for ABC's local early newscast. And news crews from all major
network affiliates in the market covered the event from campaign launch to the last day of shoot!
WHAT A BLESSING! Also a 30-minute infomercial promoting the show was produced and aired numerous times a week on
local independent station WYCS TV-24 and print media sponsor The Louisville Defender's (Kentucky's only minority weekly newspaper) eight week press with five full page layouts, and numerous editorials prior to the event certainly gave Gospel Superfest' premiere event a huge presence in the
region. We new from that level of support that Gospel Superfest is and was
ordained by GOD.
Since June of 2000 United Television has produced ten consecutive Gospel Superfest TV festivals that have yeilded multiple one-hour and 1/2 hour programs.
